Arrhythmology Office

CardioPrima cardioprima.md

The Arrhythmology Office at CardioPrima specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of cardiac rhythm disorders. Arrhythmology is a branch of cardiology focused exclusively on heart rhythm — how electrical impulses are generated and transmitted to ensure proper heart function.

When an arrhythmology consultation is needed

An arrhythmologist consultation is recommended in cases of:

  • palpitations or irregular heartbeats;
  • tachycardia (abnormally fast heart rhythm) or bradycardia (abnormally slow heart rhythm);
  • sinus pauses or conduction disturbances;
  • suspected atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, or other supraventricular arrhythmias;
  • ventricular arrhythmias (extrasystoles, ventricular tachycardia);
  • symptoms such as dizziness, weakness, presyncope, or episodes of loss of consciousness.

Services provided

The CardioPrima arrhythmologist offers:

  • comprehensive assessment of rhythm disorders based on ECG, Holter ECG monitoring, and functional tests;
  • interpretation of conduction abnormalities and assessment of their clinical significance;
  • treatment recommendations, including:
    • antiarrhythmic medications,
    • anticoagulant therapy (when indicated),
    • optimization of overall cardiological treatment;
  • evaluation of the need for interventional procedures:
    • indication for pacemaker implantation in cases of severe bradycardia or conduction blocks;
    • referral for further evaluation in specialized centers for catheter ablation in complex arrhythmias;
  • long-term monitoring and follow-up of patients with arrhythmias.

Purpose of the office

The main goal of the Arrhythmology Office is to ensure accurate diagnosis, prompt initiation of appropriate treatment, and reduction of the risk of arrhythmia-related complications such as syncope, heart failure, or thromboembolic events.

Through a specialized approach and individualized care, patients receive the safest and most effective recommendations to maintain a stable heart rhythm.
