The Oral Anticoagulation Control Center at CardioPrima provides services for the selection and monitoring of oral anticoagulant therapy for patients who require prevention of blood clot formation in the heart or blood vessels.

Who is it for

Oral anticoagulant therapy is recommended in the following situations:

  • deep vein thrombosis;
  • pulmonary thromboembolism;
  • atrial fibrillation;
  • presence of prosthetic heart valves;
  • other conditions associated with a high risk of clot formation within the cardiac chambers, such as:
    • certain cases of myocardial infarction with left ventricular aneurysm;
    • severe heart failure;
    • other clinical situations in which the attending physician recommends anticoagulant therapy.

Services provided

  • initial assessment and selection of the appropriate oral anticoagulant (based on medical indication and the patient’s individual profile);
  • monitoring of treatment effectiveness and safety through regular assessment of coagulation parameters (e.g. INR);
  • dose adjustment according to laboratory results and clinical condition;
  • counseling on drug and dietary interactions to maintain treatment efficacy and minimize bleeding risks;
  • medical education and patient training for proper self-management of anticoagulant therapy.

Center’s mission

The mission of the Oral Anticoagulation Control Center is to ensure personalized, safe, and effective treatment through an integrated approach that combines the expertise of the cardiologist with careful, continuous patient monitoring.

Through close collaboration between the patient and the medical team, an optimal balance is achieved between thrombosis prevention and avoidance of hemorrhagic complications.
